Well, I can't believe I finally
made it here after all these years! A few of
you may recognize me as the creator of Scribble!
This is the first time showcasing my own work
here, I thought some of you might be interested
in seeing my colored pencil artwork. I admit
haven't had as much time to devote to my first
love of drawing since I have started my own
website & graphic design business, Platte
Productions, but this site certainly has helped
to keep me up to date on the art world, specifically,
colored pencil art.
I have been drawing since I can
remember and like so many of you, have been
made to feel like less than a "REAL"
artist years ago when I would tell someone that
I used colored pencils as my main medium - that
is why I chose the name "Scribble!"
for this site...kind of tongue and cheek! (the
exclamation is for encouragement). I am so excited
with the advances this medium has made and it
is all due to the talent of so many amazing
artists that has really Wowed the world!
I work almost exclusively in colored
pencil but will occasionally use watercolor
or just graphite. My art is done in a realistic
style and although I specialize in portraiture,
I love the additional textures I can achieve
drawing animals and still lifes. After attending
a small college, where I majored in Commercial
Art Illustration, I worked as an on-staff artist
and received a lot of experience working with
various companies. I have done various types
of work in the Illustrations field but always
continued to be drawn to doing portraits. My
goals for 2001 is to create art for myself and
re-explore new colored pencil techniques. It
will be fun to have no pressure and just create!
